NOTICE OF A CLOSED MEETING

OF THE NEWPORT ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORTIY

 

Notice is hereby given, that the Newport Economic Development Authority of the City of Newport may conduct a closed section of the Newport Economic Development Authority meeting under Minnesota Statue Section 13D.05 subd. 3 pertaining to the discussion of land purchases on Thursday, February 15, 2018. The Newport Economic Development Authority meeting will immediately follow the regularly scheduled City Council meeting beginning at 5:30 p.m. and will be held in the City Hall Council Chambers at Newport City Hall, 596 7th Avenue, Newport, MN 55055.

 

NOTICE OF A JOINT MEETING OF THE WASHINGTON COUNTY COMMUNITY

DEVELOPMENT AGENCY AND NEWPORT CITY COUNCIL

 

Notice is hereby given, that the Newport City Council of the City of Newport will be conducting a meeting with the Washington County Community Development Authority on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at 5:30 p.m. at the Washington County Community Development Authority Office, 7645 Currell Boulevard, Woodbury, Minnesota, 55125.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

FOR THE REVIEW AND POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING THE LIQUOR LICES HELD BY OPINON BREWING, OPERTING WITHIN THE CITY OF NEWPORT, MINNESOTA AS OPINION BREWING COMPANY WITH THE LOCATION OF THE BUSINESS IS AT 374 21ST STREET, NEWPORT, MINNESOTA, 55055

.

Notice is hereby given, that the City of Newport, Minnesota, acting through its City Council, will conduct a public hearing under the authority vested in it under Minnesota law, to determine whether to terminate, suspend or otherwise impose conditions with respect to the above-described license and premises.

 

The hearing will be on Thursday, March 1, 2018, at 5:30 p.m. or as soon thereafter, in the City Council Chambers at Newport City Hall, 596 7th Avenue, Newport, MN and the Council can hear the matter.

 

The principal focus of the aforesaid hearing will be to determine whether the aforesaid licenses are operating in a manner that creates a significant hazard or nuisance to the public or the citizens of the City.  If such a hazard or nuisance is found, the Council may consider legal options authorized by law either directly after the hearing or at such other date or time as it may, in its discretion, deem appropriate.
