BUILDING PERMIT INFORMATION
Why do I need a building permit?
The City of Newport is dedicated to providing safety to its community, and in doing so, ensures that all construction is done properly so that all buildings are safe
and meet building code regulations. The Building Department administers these laws through the issuance of permits and by performing inspections. It is important that
property owners, as well as contractors, make certain whether a building permit is necessary prior to beginning any construction or project. Click here to view and download the different permits.
What do I need to do submit with my building permit application?

If a contractor does not have a State License they will then need to register with the City through the Contractor's License. The Contractor's License is $50/year.
