Residents and property owners can now pay their utility bill online or by phone! Residents and property owners will be required to pay a fee of $2.99 each time they pay online or by phone. You can pay by phone by calling 1-877-885-7968. Click here to pay online.

A common question posed by residents is why their water bill is higher over one period of time than it has been over another. There are a few possibilities. In the summer months, watering your lawn can increase your water bill substantially. It may also be possible that you have a slow leak somewhere in your residence or business. You can check your faucets, toilets, and water softeners, and if you still find no leak, check your water meter when you know that no one is using water. If the dials on your water meter are moving, it will be apparent that somewhere there is a leak. If you need help in assessing your home for leaks, please contact Newport Public Works at (651) 459-2475.
Please bear in mind that even if your water is not being used, the City has a minimum base charge from 0-10,000 gallons of water that is used each quarter.

If you are moving in or out of Newport, please contact City Hall at least a few days prior to the closing / rental date of the property. A member from the Public Works Department will take a final meter reading so that you are not assessed for water usage that you are not responsible for.
Is there a special rate for Senior Citizens?
Yes. Senior Citizens who are 65 years of age and older are eligible for a discount. Seniors should sign up for the discount at City Hall and must renew their application each October.
